MINUTE TO WIN IT - Wet 'n Wild Edition

I am back with a new edition of Minute to Win It and this one is sure to get you soaked!!!

It seems like the spring weather was skipped here in Vegas and went straight to early summer temperatures.  Needless to say our air conditioning has been running daily since May 1st and we have enjoyed many afternoon swims at the resort pools.

With the hot temperatures already here, I knew that I would need some fun games for my kiddos to play to help them keep cool this summer.  That's when the idea for a Wet 'n Wild Minute to Win It came to me.

Whether, you are looking to plan a school field day, a summer party or just need a reason to get wet these games are for you.And every game is sure to bring laughter and smiles out of everyone that plays.

It is available in my shop for ONLY $3.50 as an instant download until Friday May 16th.  Then it will be bumped back up to its regular price of $5.00.

St Patty's Day Minute To Win It

When you ask your children what their favorite holiday it, I bet they don't say St Patrick's Day like my daughter does.  St Patty's Day use to be a holiday I let slip by and now it is one that I put a lot of time and effort into to make it as fun as I can for my kids, especially my daughter.  Treasure hunts, fun food and a sneaky little leprechaun are just a few of the things that make this holiday so much fun around here.

My Valentine Minute to Win it was such a hit with my kids that I got started planning my St.Patty's Day version right away.  It turned out AWESOME and my kids can't stop talking about playing the fun games.

Just like my Valentine's Day version, everything needed to play the game can be found at Walmart or your local dollar store.  My favorite game piece this time around are these mini green mugs - so cute!!!  I have included a shopping list so all you have to do is print and shop.  I like to make things Easy Peasy for you!!!

St Patty's Day Countdown Blocks - NEW RELEASE

My daughter loves all holidays, but St Patrick's Day is her favorite.  She loves the Leprechaun that will pinch you if you are not wearing green and we have a sneaky little Leprechaun that visits our house and makes a huge mess.  Every year she designs a trap to catch that "bad little leprechaun."

I might not share her same enthusiasm about St Patty's Day, but I know that I will make this holiday a special as I can for her. I created a St Patty's Day countdown for her so she will know exactly how many days until the leprechaun comes. She is thrilled with these blocks and they coordinate so well with all things green.

Once our little Leprechaun has come and gone, these blocks will be turned into a Calendar for the remaining days of the month.

Over the years, St Patty's Day is becoming a holiday I do look forward to.  I love planning and prepping to make her day a fun and unforgettable day!

Children's Payday Punch Card - New Release

I have been in major need of a chore card system that worked for both me and my kids for a long time now.  I have tried and tried new ideas, but they all seem to fizzle out.

One day when I was at one of my favorite sandwich shops for lunch, as I was pulling out my customer loyalty card  (you know the kind:  1 sandwich = 1 punch . . .10 punches = 1 FREE sandwich)  I got the idea for my current chore system.   My kids and I have been testing it out for months and it works like a charm.

One reason it works so well, is that it is a self managed system.  When I come upon a job the kids can do, I write the chore on their "Chore To Do" card.  I give them a little shout out that they have a new chore to complete.  After they are done with their chore, they give themselves a punch on their "Payday Punch Card."  I try to average 2 chores a day so they can be paid weekly.  Once the kids have complete 12 chores, they get paid.  They hand me their completed card, I give them their money and then they start all over again.  Currently my kids earn $1 a card, but I love that I can increase their pay without changing one thing about the system.

Another great aspect of this system is your kids decide when they get paid.  My son has opted out of his chore card a few time, but he has learned the hard way that if he does, he does get paid as fast as his sister.

This kit includes 6 "Payday Punch Card" designs (3 boy and 3 girls) with a cordinatng "Chore To Do" card and a cordinating blank card.  I love to use the blank card to leave little "love notes" for my kids.

Once you purchase your file, all you have to do it print, trim and laminate (just the chore/blank cards) and you are ready to go.

Easter Word Blocks - NEW RELEASE

I am so excited that Easter is around the corner.  When growing up that meant that warm weather was around the corner.  However, I live in Vegas and we have already experienced some 80 degree weather days so I am not looking for better weather.  I am already enjoying it.  But because I live in a desert landscape, I miss seeing the new flowers blossom and.  So I needed to add a pop of color somehow to my home decor.  I loved my St Patty's Day blocks so much, I created some Easter ones.  The pop of color was just what my house needed.
While the kids played outside for the afternoon, I enjoyed some "me time" creating my Easter Word blocks.   Honestly one of my favorite things about Easter is Starburst Jellybeans so knew I had to have a jellybean block to honor my favorite treat.  The Jellybean block is my favorite one.

Easter Game Bundle - NEW RELEASE

My thoughts have turned to Easter this week.  If you follow my blog regularly, then you know that Holidays are BIG in my family.  I am a little behind in my celebration planning, but I am not too concerned.  I like to keep my family celebrations simple.

I just finished creating some fun family Easter themed games that would be a great addition to any Easter Egg hunt you may already have planned.  This game bundle includes 2 games and BONUS coloring page.

The first game in this bundle is the Easter version of Don't Eat Pete.  This game is one of my family's favorite.  It is fun for any age.  If you have never played before, the rules are simple.  First you need to have a bowl of candy.  We usually use M&M's, but for Easter we will use Starburst Jelly Beans.  Place one candy in each square of the game board. Send the first child (or adult) away from the game board, then have the remaining children choose which candy will be "Pete" for the round. Have the first child come back and begin picking candy from the game board. As soon as the child tries to pick "Pete" everyone yells "Don't Eat Pete!"  The child keeps all the candy picked up before trying to get Pete. Refill the game board and play again.

This bundle also includes a Pin the Tail on Peter Cottontail.  I decided that I wanted to make my tails look fluffy so I glued some cotton balls on them.  I think the fluffy version of the tails is SO CUTE.

This game is comes in an 8x10 for easy printing at home or a 16x20 for printing on a poster at Staples or Office Max.

Here is how I made my fluffy tails.  First I printed, trimmed and laminated my tails.  Then it only took about 10 minutes to finish adding the fluff.   I took cotton balls and cut them into fourths.  Then I used the glue shown in the picture and covered the whole surface area.  Finally, I started placing the cotton ball quarters onto the glue.  I used about 7 per tail.

The Golden Ticket Reward System - NEW RELEASE

My sister in law called me about a month ago with this great idea for a new "rewards system."   She wanted to be able to give her kids a  reward for good behavior.  She asked me if I would create some kind of "coupon" to give to her kids and wanted one that was a little more special, "like a golden ticket."   What a PERFECT idea!!!  I couldn't wait to get started for her sake and mine.  I wanted to use this system in my house as well.  This system's concept is easy:  the kids do something good or kind for someone in the family and they get a reward ticket in return.

I created 4 different color designs so each child in the family could choose their own tickets, in addition to the GOLDEN TICKET.

This system is easy.  Once you have printed, trimmed and laminated the tickets, simply use a Sharpie marker to write the reward.  When the ticket has been cashed in, simply wipe clean with some window cleaner and be on the look out for some more good behavior.

My hubby and I have decided to keep the rewards simple.  Here are a few we are using
  • Stay up 15 minutes late
  • 1 extra dessert
  • 1 more book to read at bedtime
  • Manicure
  • 15 minutes of Mommy/Daddy play
  • Date to the Movie Theater - Golden Ticket
  • Dinner Date with Mommy/Daddy - Golden Ticket
The ideas are endless and can be adapted to each child's likes and needs.
